NEW: First-in-the-state night golf course coming to Gadsden
Gadsden Introduces Night Golf at Twin Bridges Golf Club
A new golfing experience is set to illuminate Alabama as the Gadsden City Council has approved plans to introduce night golf at Twin Bridges Golf Club. During the council’s meeting on August 20, an agreement was finalized with The EE Group Inc. to install lighting for the back nine holes, allowing players to tee off after sunset. City officials anticipate that the enhanced course will be ready for use by next summer.
This initiative is part of the broader GROW Gadsden Initiative, which aims to revitalize the area through various upgrades, including enhancements to city parks, the establishment of walking trails, and improvements along the riverfront. Mayor Craig Ford expressed enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing its role in enhancing the quality of life in Gadsden, aiming to make the city a more vibrant and enjoyable place to live and visit.
Located near the Silver Lake Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, the newly illuminated Twin Bridges Golf Club will provide visiting golfers with a unique nighttime experience, adding an exciting twist to traditional golf. As the project is still in its planning stages, community members and golf enthusiasts are encouraged to stay updated by subscribing to local newsletters to be among the first to know when night golf officially launches. The introduction of night golf marks a significant step in fostering recreational opportunities in Gadsden.
