Albertville Mayor Honea Discusses Exploring Opportunities with Businesses and Restaurants During State of the City Address | News
Albertville’s recent State of the City Address, held on Thursday and hosted by the Albertville Chamber of Commerce, showcased the city’s growth and future opportunities. Mayor Tracy Honea addressed a sizable gathering, sharing exciting prospects related to ongoing developments and new businesses in the pipeline. While stressing that no formal announcements were made, Honea revealed that the city has partnered with Willow Capital Group to create the “Sand Mountain Marketplace,” a proposed 246,000 square foot retail and restaurant hub featuring major retailers such as Target and Academy Sports.
In addition to the marketplace, Honea highlighted the progress of several projects, including the new Longhorn Steakhouse, expected to open by summer, and a dual-branded Holiday Inn and IHG Candlewood Suites, which will introduce a unique hospitality concept to the area. Another anticipated development includes an Entertainment Center by Alleyway Entertainment, featuring a bowling alley, sports bar, and arcade.
Honea also mentioned the potential arrival of Cookout, which has faced construction delays but is hopeful to break ground soon. The city’s partnership with Willow Capital is a critical step toward revitalizing the area and attracting prominent businesses, with formal announcements anticipated in the spring. The community’s enthusiasm reflects the positive outlook for Albertville’s economic growth.
