Albertville Chamber hosts educational breakfast | News
The Albertville Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Albertville City School System, hosted the 2025 Educational Alliance Breakfast at Lifepoint Church on Friday. Miguel Corona, president of the Albertville City Schools Foundation, highlighted the foundation’s role in providing financial and material support to students and teachers, such as $500 gift cards for new teachers and meals for staff throughout the year. Significant funding from the foundation allows for various initiatives, including the Hall of Fame and the upcoming Spring Fling event.
Chief Academic Officer Julie Ann McCulley recognized several outstanding educators, including Jaime Bryant from Albertville Kindergarten as the Teacher of the Year. The breakfast featured a panel discussion with District Superintendent Dr. Bart Reeves, Assistant Superintendent Todd Watkins, Principal of Albertville Innovation Academy Tyler Reeves, and McCulley. They emphasized the importance of partnerships between education and local business for community development.
Dr. Reeves announced a $3.5 million mental health grant, which will fund a mental health coordinator in every school. Todd Watkins discussed upcoming projects including new locker rooms, gym facilities, and ongoing construction at local schools to accommodate increased student capacity. McCulley highlighted recent grants that have led to additional aide and interventionist positions to improve student support. The innovative Albertville Innovation Academy, which focuses on career tech pathways, has received praise for its positive impact on students’ educational experiences. Overall, the event underscored the importance of collaboration in enhancing the future of education in Albertville.
